It is difficult to write about subjects such as animal rights objectively. I had my own mind set of what to expect going into reading this article and now understand the subject more clearly and feel more comfortable about where I stand on this issue. I think there are many good services to rehabilitate animals and then set them free, but to keep these smart beings from being free is nothing short of false imprisonment. There have been many instances of animals loosing there minds in captivity for the entertainment of humans. It makes me wonder how the mind sets of these animals are too.

"Sea World vs. the Whale That Killed Its Trainer"
Given the articles information on how many different species of whales there are in the world and how social the animals are, I find myself with a new found opinion on how I feel about going to see one of these shows. I respect all living beings rights to be free, so it seems unfair that we would subject these animals to what comes down to captivity. These whales are social animals, as the article stated, so to force them to live with other species in the way they do seems so unnatural. These creatures have different cultures depending on the species, so in keeping them away from their natural habitat, we are basically taking away their identity. With that being said, I feel at this point I don't feel comfortable going to see any of these water shows. If I attended an event like this I would be advocating for a situation that I don't feel is right.
